Real shame that they weren't able to take their place in the Europa League qualifiers this season. They rightfully earnt the place.

I believe they may have made it to the group stage. Much better side then PAS who barely had a team before the first qualifier.

Panionios drew for Q2 of EL the winner of the tie FC Shirak (Armenia)/ND Gorica (Slovenia) of Q1.  First game in Athens unless UEFA decides to change that.

Maccabi Tel-Aviv (ISR)/KR Reykjavík (ISL) v Panionios (GRE)/Gorica (SVN) is the pairing for Q3. Maccabi won the first game with 3-1 after KR took the lead in '58.

Panionios will not play with their strongest squad in the Ties against Maccabi. The Iranian players are not allowed to play against Isreali people. Let alone travel to and play in Israel as the Iranian government feel the same about Israel as Pash does about Down Under.

Lamprou had the best chance in 91' minute, that could have tied it up 1-1.

Full time 1-0 Maccabi-Tel-Aviv win
Result could have been worse, need a strong effort from Panionios in Greece.

0-1 Maccabi Tel-Aviv
Panionios never really looked like a quality team.

Masoud Shojaei and Ehsan Hajsafi will pay for their presence at the homegame against Maccabi. They are expelled from the Iranian national team.

This has to be against FIFA rules.  Yes FIFA, that bastion of (non) corruption.
