Thanks for the update, Greekaroos. I've been trying to keep a bit of order and reserve individual threads for the most notable Greek players, mostly those who have featured for the National Team or who are regulars in the senior team of a big club. Aidonis isn't there yet so his progress can be discussed in the Other Greeks Abroad topic until he, hopefully, takes the next step and becomes a regular with Stuttgart and/or makes the NT.

And now another goal for Pavlidis in the last MD of the season in the Netherlands. Willem II might qualify for the play-offs for Q2 of EL. But that depends also on the scores in the other matches.

Today is the start of a new season in the Dutch Eredivisie. First match is PEC Zwolle vs Willem II. HT there and Vangelis Pavlidis scored the equalizer just before the break. Vrousai was also in the starting eleven.

Taxiarchis Fountas (former AEK, RB Salzburg, Asteras Tripolis and Panionios player) moved this summer from St. Pölten to Rapid Vienna. He scored today the first goal of the season for Rapid (first (home)game lost to RB Salzburg 0-2) against the club he just left: 0-1. BTW FT was 2-2.

First time Orestis Kiomourtzoglou is fielded for Heracles Almelo in MD 2 of the Dutch Eredivisie. He is a starter and with seven minutes to go he is still on the pitch (with a yellow card) and leading 0-1 away at Lazaros Lamprou’s former club Fortuna Sittard.

Edited by Dutch Eagle
Edit: game ended 1-1 with a penalty for the hometeam in stoppage time. Kiomourtzoglou played the whole game.

Dimitris Diamantakos scored the 2-2 for St. Pauli against Lübeck in the first round of the DFB-Pokal (German cup) to earn them extra time. In the last minute of the extra time (and a 3-3 score) he was sent of with a red card. St. Pauli reached the next phase after winning the penalty shootout.

Taxiarchis Fountas with 2 goals for Rapid Wien, I’m surprised he is only 23... has been around for long time, not a bad little player at all

I’ve always thought highly of him ever since he was at AEK. He was only 17 and was carrying the team on his back in a time where AEK was at its worst.

Thanks for the updates. Diamantakos actually has his own thread.
