Lazaros Lamprou scored another (and this time vital) goal for Fortuna. He scored the 2-0 in 80’ in the cupgame against second tier Cambuur that ended 2-1 and Fortuna down to ten men This earned his club a place in the quarterfinal of the Dutch cup.

I’m expecting big things from this player. Hopefully he stays healthy and fit because he should be in the national team. He’s a natural winger and has the speed and skill to take players on and is very creative and also most importantly scores goals. He is a very ambitious player and should have a great career. Lamprou and Chatzigiovannis should be looked at for the national team.

If you don’t want to play Fetfatzidis and Lazaros outwide well these are your next best options and it’s not Mantalos or Pelkas.

These are the real wingers we have at the moment:

Lazaros, Fetfatzidis, Lamprou, Donis, Chatzigiovannis, Limnios and Masouras. These players are good enough to play in the national team and are heaps better options on the wing than Bakasetas, Mantalos and Pelkas.

And what a debut they had today! Both lads were subbed in in the second half and Pavlidis provided the assist for Vrousai to make the essential 2-0 in the last minute of the game.

This midweek the quarterfinals of the Dutch cup are played. Willem II plays at second tier FC Twente and after trailing 1-0 and 2-1 Pavlidis scored the 2-2 after an assist of Vrousai in 76’ and in 86’ Vrousai produced another assist (to Kristinsson) for the 2-3. They are in stoppage time now.

Has Vrousai pledged allegiance to Albania?

Not that I know. He has played sofar for U-19 and U-21 of Greece. If the Greek National Team want him to attach to Greece they should let him play in the upcoming qualifiers for Euro 2020. 1 second will do the trick as his nationality as a footballer will be Greek forever if he plays a game that matters on senior level.

The Dutch league has proven to improve Greek talent. Look at Tsimikas also the keeper Lamprou. Hatzidiakos is improving slowly and the winger Lamprou is proving himself. With now Pavlidis and Vrousai playing now they will start improving and hopefully in the near future they start playing for the national.

Minor detail but Michelis is an Asteras product, no?

Lazaros Lamprou scored another two goals today against Excelsior. With his 1-0 and 2-0 he helped his club to the current ninth spot in the Dutch Eredivisie, just 4 points above #16, the first “unsafe” spot (relegation play-offs against the better teams from the second tier).

Vangelis Pavlidis and Marios Vrousai reached the Dutch Cupfinal after beating Hatzidiakos’s AZ for the second time in a few days. This time in the second semifinal after penalties. Vrousai did not play as he was sick. Pavlidis was subbed in at HT. Hatzidiakos again 90’ on the bench.

Willem II will face Ajax on Liberation Day, May 5th.
