Dutch Eagle
The ref (Mattias Gestranius) and his assistants are from Finland.
Yiankos
Refs from overseas for derbies is a great idea. We saw in last years cup final which had 3 red cards and a penalty not one decision was argued by the players. They accepted it and moved on. Has this been enforced by FIFA or did the Superleague commission agree to having foreign refs for derbies?
Blackhawk
Superleague has no say. EPO controls and assigns the refs. Considering the refereeing for the first 3 games in PAOK games, I would demand foreign refs in all our games.
Blackhawk
Looks like Paschalakis will be banned from this game as he was called to testify for his actions in the OFI game.

pash
Big chance for Rey to step up. Alexandros may be getting complacent; he's been much worse than last season. I want these guys to compete like hell with each other.

Yiankos
Athens4
Jaba and Warda should be our starting wingers in my opinion. I cannot wait for Canas' contract to be up next summer.

Paschalakis has certainly came back to earth with a thud this season. I suspect his limitations were not really exposed last season, as when he came in, the team was wiping the floor with everyone. Can't take anything away from him though, he is in his late 20s, and really never played much before coming to us & he took his opportunity with both hands. pash
He has gotten tested a lot more this preseason, but I am not convinced that he's not any good. I think most of his issues so far have stemmed from some sort of arrogance/sense of entitlement. Some time on the bench might serve him well. paokarag4
Is all this stemming from his celebrations V OFI? Had one bad moment v Chelsea where he flapped very badly at a corner(show me a keeper that's played in Greece who hasn't had flaws) but apart from that I thought he was one of our best. If it's a question of his provoking the OFI fans, who knows the m*****es he heard from the stands, he lost his cool it happens all over the world. In Greece it happens more often. Anyways looks like he'll start vs AEK as his hearing has been pushed back to early next week. Must win game this one, but we all know that. Interested to see what Razvan does in the middle of the pitch, whether it's Wernbloom or Canas who partners Maurico. Biseswar to start please Edited September 21, 2018 by paokarag4

pash
He was incredibly lucky during the first half of the game with Chelsea, and I think he's looked shaky the whole preseason. But, again, I don't think it's a lack of skill. His celebrations are nothing new, the camera crews in Greece know by this point that if PAOK scores, that they should immediately show him because he gets so pumped up. It's pretty great stuff. As for the AEK match - if there's one thing I'm confident on, it's that Canas will play the game. Wernbloom was the sacrificial goat for Chelsea. Here's my lineup, though I fear that El Kaddouri will play instead of Biseswar. --Pashalakis-- --Matos--Varela--Crespo--Vieirinha-- --Canas--Mauricio-- --Limnios--Pelkas--Biseswar-- --Prijovic--
Blackhawk
I would seriously consider sitting out Vierinha if I was Lucescu. He was barely walking at the end of the game yesterday.
pash
He should, but Lucescu is very conservative. If Vieirinha can play even half a game, then he'll be on the field.

Blackhawk
True, and Rudiger should have had a red card for hitting Warda. There was also a penalty not called on Mauricio before the half. Chelsea players got away with some clear fouls. Still, Vierinha has been very poor the last couple games. Both the goals (OFI, Chelsea) came from his poor defensive plays.
