What a joke we are in pot C with some minnows like Albania, Israel and Lithuania, while teams that couldn't even make playoffs like Turkey, Bosnia and Austria are in B.

That’s great for us, will take it!

no wrong, winners of each league do qualify for the actualy tournament. hence you here people complaining about the likes of luxembourg and kosovo having the chance to reach the euros through this system. we'll have to see the draw for the actual qualifiers but i think this system will offer us a better chance. especially when you think that greece will be a pot 3 team again for the qualification for the european championship which means we'll have a tough draw. potential opponents for the euro qualifiers;

pot1; germany, portugal, belgium, spain, france, england, switzerland, italy, poland, iceland

pot2; croatia, netherlands, austria, wales, russia, slovakia, sweden, ukraine, ireland, bosnia

pot3; nothern ireland, denmark, czech republic, turkey, hungary, romania, scotland, slovenia, greece, serbia

pot4; albania, norway, montenegro, israel, bulgaria, finland, cyprus, estonia, lithuania, azerbaijan

pot5; vardarska, belarus, georgia, armenia, latvia, faroes, luxembourg, kazakhstan, moldova, liechtenstein

pot6; malta, andorra, kosovo, san marino, gibraltar

what would be great imo

iceland/poland/switzerland

slovakia/bosnia/russia

greece

lithuania/azerbaijan/cyprus

armenia/latvia/moldova

san marino/gibraltar/andorra

Just reading through the format, the only way to gain direct qualification into Euro 2020 is through the qualifiers, which will begin in march 2019. The nations league will only provide playoff spots to the winners of their respective sections. Unless the winners of the nations league group qualify automatically through the qualifiers, the playoff spot would then go to the next best rank side in the nations league.

no that's not true. you can read it here in greek. http://www.cnn.gr/news/sports/story/98485/uefa-to-nations-league-mpainei-sti-zoi-mas-vid

@Boxou Only the group winners from League A play-off in a final 4 system. The other league winners, gain promotion.
Everywhere I read has the nations league winners going into a PLAYOFF SYSTEM to reach the finals of Euro 2020. So yes you can qualify via the nations league but there will be another play-off round post traditional qualifiers

To recap, I believe this is how the system works.... Each team is put into a category, A, B, C or D, depending on their rankings.  Then the teams are split into 4 groups.  The team the finishes first in the group gains two things, 1) promotion to the next category 2) entry into the playoff pool within your category.  The team that finishes last gets relegated into the next category.  The winner for the four team play-off gets the entry into the Euro.  The winner of the play-off of category A wins the league of nations.

What you guys fail to understand is that the playoffs are related with the AFOREMENTIONED league. Which practically means EACH league will produce at least one Euro 202 participant. The so called playoffs you are bragging about will be between the best 4 teams of each league with the eventual winners gaining a ticket to the Euros, be it LEAGUE A or LEAGUE D.......

THIS

Also this means that someone from League D will make it to the Euro finals.
