Östersunds FK is currently 5th in the Swedish Allsvenskan with 27 points in 17 games (GD +3). Sunday they play away at 13th placed GIF Sundsvall.

Some trivia about Östersund:

* They are the most northern club at the highest level in Sweden;

* They play on artificial turf (has our club ever played an official game on this could of ground?;

* In their roster is one former PAOKtzis: Sotiris Papagiannopoulos.

GIF Sundsvall - Östersund 1-1 (goal Darijan Bojanic). Östersund now have 28 points in 18 games. They dropped at #6 with 16 teams in the Allsvenskan. They could even drop another place if IFK Norrköping wins their 18th game this season tomorrow.

Just watching the FC Basel - Feyenoord friendly. Basel with most of their roster of last year minus the one that were sold and minus the very quick Oberlin are being trashed. With fifteen minutes to play 0-4. Two goals by Van Persie btw.

We're our own worst enemy. As long as we don't make any stupid mistakes (and that includes our dumbass fans!!!!!), I am confident we can win this. Let's also hope this doesn't end 3-1; remember what happened last season??

Wicky has been fired by Basel, their U18 coach will temporarily take over. They'll likely have the new guy in by the time we play (I think someone who coached the Swiss NT at one point? Assuming the old rumor was right).

Teams that sack a coach tend to have an immediate spike in performance. It will be interesting to see how they go this weekend in their league game.

Hopefully their instability plays in to our hands rather than rallying their squad

Was also hoping they would let him be in charge till the return.

Stats indicate that there is no shock-effect for the long term. Just an effect for the first games as players want to present themselves to the new coach.

FC Basel won it’s first point in the Swiss Super League with an away-draw against Neuchatel Xamax. Noah Okafor scored their goal (0-1). Xamax equalised in 86’ to make it 1-1. Samuele Campo was sent of in 90’ with two yellows. And that after being subbed in in 70’ for Ricky van Wolfswinkel.

I'm not seeing any bump for Basel. Good.

Spartak Moscow won 1-0 vs Orenburg, which according to transfermarkt is a 12mm EUR team. This is not an Ajax we have ahead of us, folks. Assuming we progress.

Spartak drew 0-0 away at defending champions Lokomotiv Moscow.

Their captain, Denis Gkushakov, was subbed off after he had a collision with an opponent. He played some time with stitches but was not able to make it till the endof the game.
