Ange A should therefore play with 1 DM, in a 4132 or 442 system. Play Donis or Koulouris up with Mykonos.

Bit harsh on Mitro I feel re banana. He had a great 2 seasons at Benfica where he was scoring for fun. I know a few of their fans were scratching their head when he was sold to Marseille at the start of last season. Hasn't had the best time at Marseille though for the last 18 months.

Yeah man I’m harsh ha ha.  But regardless, for Mitroglou doesn’t work in our NT.  When your NT lacks technically, you can make up for it through work rate and organisation.  In other words, run mother f##ckers.  That’s what the Germans and Italians have been doing for decades.

In our NT you can maybe, and I mean maybe, have one player that doesn’t run like a trelo.  And that slot goes to Fortounis.  Everyone else has to be fitter and harder working to overcome our technical limitations.  Having said that, that’s my philosophy or take on it.  To each their own.  But if I was the opposition coach playing against Greece and I see a lineup with Mitroglou up front, I ain’t worried much.

As to who else to put up front, right now I’d be playing Koulouris if only to piss Mitroglou off and maybe get him angry enough that he ups his game ha ha.  It’s kind of sad that have so few options up front.

Maybe Angelo can shake some sense into Samaris....na ginei anthropos....like my folks use to tell me....otherwise he's just a waste of space unless he drops Tziolara completely in which case I'd take the trade off. Vlaxodimos is definitely deserving of a call up. Hopefully he'll also take a closer look at Kivrakides, Vasilakopoulos and Manias amongst others. The youngsters need to play in the euro U21 qualification play offs so I'd leave Tsimikas, Koulouris and the rest out of this round of call ups and give some of the overlooked seniors a go.

The team will look different in the euro qualifiers then it will in the last 2 games of the Nations league due to the fact that he will allow the U21 to finish their campaign.. I still think we will see a different team in the next two games as I expect Tziolis, Tzavellas, Karnezis gone. I'm hoping he reaches out to Holebas.. Don't expect miracles in the first two games as the team may not look that good until they adjust to the way the coach wants them to play.. I'm taking these next two games as a way to get ready for the Euro qualifiers.. A press conference with the new coach would have been nice...

The new coach has not been officially announced yet, so don't expect any press conference until then. Even then don't expect him to say much.

This is already a bit concerning. Not a single winger called up (unless masouras is a winger), 4 dms called, no lazaros and he still has bakasetas in the team. I like the riff raff are gone, and there are deserving players in, but some of the calls are very peculiar. Unless he's planning on going with a completely different formation? What'd he play at paok?

Probably going with a 4-4-2 or 3-5-2 with Koulouris and Mitro up front. I like the selections personally. Would love to have Holebas back as well. No Tziolis and Tzavellas! What a breath of fresh air!!!

I like the overall selection of the team. Siovas back in the fold and Vlachodimos is in the senior squad for the first time. Also no Tziolis and Tzavellas 🙂 Why did he not call up Lazaros he looked very good yesterday in Europa league match and scored a nice goal.

The bricklayer is a has been player and should be treated as such. He has no business on the team just like Tziolis.

BTW the Anastasiadis press conference is scheduled for Tuesday 12:00 EET.

Guys, Greece can still win the group if they win the final two matches and Finland would lose there last two. Also, Greece would need to defeat Finland 3-0. It's a long shot but still a chance.

This is a good team selection. But, Mantalos, Pelkas and Bakasetas don’t deserve to be there especially Bakasetas. They haven’t performed and Lazaros and Fetfa deserve more of a chance. Happy to see Koutris, Siovas and Vlacho in the team. Koulouris is a questionable selection. I don’t know why he is not with the u21s. I also don’t think he is good enough anyway. I hope he proves me wrong and scores for us though. Hopefully when the u21s win and all our players are healthy we can have a solid 23 man team.

Great that ztiolis and tsavelas are out but why is Karnezis out of the squad? Is being at Napoli not good enough? Hatzidiakos has been playing very well in holland (ignored?) Marinos a regular in Belgium. Velios, Charisis, Galitzios and Katranis all solid in belgium but as usual players that play in Belgium and Holland are ignored for the senior NT. Lamprou at Ajax i know is the number 2 there but he is a very good keeper and also the young Lamprou in Holland has been really good so far this season. Obviously when Holebas said he has retired from the NT he meant it. Imo too many players again from the Greek league. Agree with Fourtounis. Toro and Kourbelis but the majority of rest playing in greece i would only look it if we had no one available playing abroad in bigger leagues.

You guys are never happy. If any of us could do better with the selections, we wouldn’t be on this forum. He hasn't Even coached a game yet and already here we go. Has it ever occurred to any of you that maybe, just maybe none of these players but 3 or 4 are any good anyway. We’re arguing because fetfatzidis isn’t on the team or lazaros? I can understand the arguing if Ronaldo or Mbappe we’re not called up to their teams. But those 2 aren’t even average players in world standards.

Very pleased to see Tziolis and Tzavellas finally done.. unfortunate that Donis misses AGAIN due to injury..  Not a fan of Bakasetas but glad to see this coach make changes... look forward to see what system he plays and who he chooses to start..

I think you may be right. I believe we do have 3 or 4 players that are very good and that’s about it. The rest are either poor footballers or average and don’t deliver for the national team.

Your right, I said it too about no Lazaros but overall we shouldn't complain and with this crop of players Greece should not have a problem beating Finland and especially Estonia at home.
