Leafs nation is praying for this! the truth is Phaneuf and Kessel have to be moved for a proper rebuild to happen.

I'm calling it: McDavid will be a Saber.

It sounds all well and good but who is going to rebuild this team.  The same GM that created this mess.  Look at the Oilers.  They have been been racking up the #1 picks for years and are still horrible.  Shanahan has no experience so this is a big gamble.

Never said it was going to a be a easy rebuild Leafs will need 3-4 yrs before they can even consider themselves a good team again but this years draft is very deep and with 2 1st round picks they should really help the team going forward. Glad we beat Ottawa last night do not want them in the playoffs seems now Pittsburg/Boston/Detroit will fight it out.

And your MTL Canadiens will take any of those clubs over Ottawa thank you very much! ;)

Now just hoping Pachioretty will be good to go in a week's time!

All Toronto teams are such LOOSERRRRRRRRRS is not even funny any more!

I am so spoilled with all the Boston teams(lived there for 23 years) that it turns my stomach having to pay a s%$#! load of dough to go see them!

Shanahan just pulled off a Bloody Sunday firing coach-GM and most of the scouts.  He also had a press conference today stating more changes to come lol

He should replace himself! As far as I'm concerned he handled last summer's changes like an amateur. Who keeps a coach and fires his assistants?? Not really an environment for success there Shany!

He says he wanted the challenge but common, how do you turn down that kind of money. Wilson and Carlyle were successful coaches before joining the leafs and look how they turned out. This is like putting an F1 driver behind the wheel of a Lada, it's still lemon either way.

I miss the draft but very excited the Leafs picked up Marner. Seems the Leafs managment have really stuck to the rebuild plan massive new talent in this years draft and traded Kessell to get more drafts picks. Fans need to be patient we will need at least 3 yrs before we can talk about playoffs. Like the call on Kadri you give him a year to smarten up under Babcock Winnick comes back 2 yr deal lets see what happens with Bernier who is going to abitration.

Lou Lamoriello is your new GM. IMO, this move sets you back. This guy although great in the past, has yet to master the salary cap era way of doing business..

The Toronto Maple Leafs will pick first at the NHL draft for the first time in more than 30 years.

Cocksta Mathews is a big time player, we finally get the franchise center man, things are finally going in the right direction.

Yes this year's draft will be remembered when we win the cup in a few years. Also look at our prospects coming up....Mitch Mariner has 37 points in the OHL playoffs for London, the record is 57 good times ahead.
