Pressure continues to mount on Mitroglou, French press reporting his manager wants to loan him out for for the rest of the season. He was subbed off the other day in the 60th min in a cup game and was apparently jeered off by the fans. The score was 0-0 at the time, Marseille ended up winning 1-0 in extra time against a mid table 2nd division side.

I know, Marseille is just not the team for him, they are holding back his chance to improve and develop, and he's losing his confidence. Do you know which clubs want to loan him?

I dont know why the whole fuss about him from the fans. It's not his fault he is static. The Marseille ownership failed miserably in his situation by buying a static φορ περιοχής που λέμε και στο χωριό μου while the whole last season and preseason was with Germaine and Njie who are both the type of striker that can run for a ball in space. Whole team doesn't know how to play with him, it;s not only him not producing for f*ck sake. These are the things that will make his confidence fall with the fans and his teammates mumbling about him.

We knew he finds it difficult to adapt (Fuhlam/Benfica) It took him time to settle in Benfica if any1 remembers. But waiting to buy a player who misses the whole preseason and ends up doing nothing should not be a surprise for them.

I think he ll be given his chances maybe next season or maybe after January trainings.

EDIT: about the teammate backstabing him and saying bad things about Mitroglou they re all literally whos. Their team is not as good as they/we thought and they re looking for the easy excuse.

From the current Roster only 2 players have appeared in a World Cup. One is Mandanda in 2010 when France didn't make it past the Groupstages( he didn't EVEN play 1 min) and the other one was Luiz Gustavo who was eating sh!t from the Brazilians for the mediocre to bad performances in the WC 2014.

Calling a World Cup attender who has won so many titles with Benfica ( I know I know , Portugal has no team like PSG but cmon Marseille arent even finishing 2nd or 3rd) a bad quality player is literally unthinkable.

He scored in a 6-3 win against Metz, thats his third league goal in the season. It was not a difficult task because the net was empty but at least it can boost up his confidence a bit. So far he has scored 3 goals in 11 appearances.

Amazing to see him score, but he will not have the club and fan confidence until he scores a more meaningful goal.

So does that mean he misses the friendlies in March? He probably wouldn't be picked as we are trialling a few players.

after mitroglou, if we exclude karelis, there's literally none, so he should a lock in this team regardless of his form.

if you remember the last time we played without him in the squad, we had our worst game of the campaign (0-0 vs estonia)

In his return from injury, he came off the bench in the 78th min and after just 35 seconds he scored what ended up being the winner away at toulouse! 1-2 full time score

That was a timely goal and a great finish. Should buy him some more opportunity going forward.

Today he was subbed on in the 64th minute and scored his teams second goal, however, his team eventually lost at home to Olympique Lyon (2-3).

great goal vs. a big team Lyon. mitro takes a bit of time to warm up but give him 20 games and he can start for most clubs barring like a bayern lol.

that payet assist to Mitro standing scissor kick was also a beautyyy

Game came down to the brink with Mitroglou drawing for Marseille in the 84th but Depay winning it for Lyon in the 90th. Mitroglou was also part of a controversial late offside decision, that was most likely onside and would have led to a clear breakaway with lots of field.

Started last Thursday in their Europa league quarter final away to Leipzig. Marseille lost 1-0 but had quiet a few chances to grab an away goal, including Mitro who had a clever flick well saved by the keeper.
2nd leg this week, hopefully Marseille can overturn the deficit and make the semis.

Last night he also got 30 mins off the bench as Marseille drew 0-0 with Montpellier

Another successful night for a Greek player in Europe, Marseille over turned the first leg result and beat Leipzig 5-2 in France making it through to the semis of the Europa League. Mitro got a full 90 and although he didn't score apparently had a hand in a few of the goals, also was responsible for one being disallowed.

Regardless great result for him and Marseille, would love to see him  playing in the Europa league final but they still have a couple of games before that can happen.

Other teams in the semis: Arsenal, Atletico Madrid and Red bull Salzburg

2 goals for him overnight in a 5-1 drubbing of Lille. Played the full 90. More than likely he'll get the start midweek against Salzburg in the first leg of the semi

Is Kostas Mitroglou injured because he has been missing completely from Marseille’s squad in the last few matches? Hopefully he will play in the UEFA Europa League Final against Atletico Madrid.
