ukchris Posted November 2, 2009 Share Posted November 2, 2009 My first Panthers game this season and we were incredibly unlucky not to come away with a point. Panathinaikos scored two in the first 11 minutes - including a dubious penalty which resulted in a sending off - but from that point on we showed heart and pride and very nearly came away with a point. We made loads of chances and were unlucky to only score one - which was a belter too. Panathinaikos looked genuinely relieved to hear the final whistle - and nobody would've predicted that after 11 minutes! Feeling quite optimistic about this season now... I went in a neutral area and kept my thoughts to myself! The track around the pitch obviously affects the atmosphere though, so how good was it compared to other European grounds? I know the fans never stop but how much of an impact were they having considering they're so far from the play and that the stadium is practically empty? ukchris Posted November 8, 2009 Author Share Posted November 8, 2009 Well, they weren't having much effect in the sense that PAO were still playing badly - but it still sounded loud from the other side of the ground.
