asteri
It seems that about 8 teams (including AEK, Arhs, PAO, PAOK) are playing in the middle of the week as well as the weekend, hence for some teams this is 3 games in a week. This is quite unusual. Does anyone know why this unusual schedule?
ttentelh
you probably mean the greek cup games. There is only 8 teams left to play. It is normal when there are cup games in the middle of the week.
len
The Wednesday games are for the protathlima (not the cup) and everyone is playing 3 games within the week (Sat/Sun, Wed, Sun). I think these games were scheduled midweek to make up for the missed week when games got canceled due to the fire at the start of the season. asteri
Yes, I am talking about the protathlima games, and thanks for the explanation. The fires explain everything... Now if I recall, we missed two weeks of protathlima due to the fires, so it will either end 1week late, or there will be one more week of these triple-games. Ziaka
This is the only Wednesday game day this season for the regular season. It's due to the missed games earlier this season due to the fires. The regular season ends on Sunday April 13, 2008. This will be followed by 6 rounds of play-offs between the teams finishing in place 2-5. Let's not forget they need to finish early due to EURO 2008. asteri
Thanks for the explanation. Now they have to find a different day to make up, since this Wednesday EPO decided to postpone the games, due to the passing of Arxiepiskopos Xristodoulos.
