One of the latest things we've been working on Phantis is blogs. A lot of people might be familiar with the terms 'blog' and 'blogging', and some might be scratching their heads mumbling "Say what? What the heck is a blog?"

Here's a brief description from Wikipedia:

"A blog (a portmanteau of web log) is a website where entries are written in chronological order and commonly displayed in reverse chronological order. "Blog" can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog.

Many blogs provide commentary or news on a particular subject; others function as more personal online diaries. A typical blog combines text, images, and links to other blogs, web pages, and other media related to its topic. The ability for readers to leave comments in an interactive format is an important part of many blogs. " Read more

So, back to Phantis and blogs... Our blog network will tie in with the other elements that are offered, i.e. news and sports. We would like to offer blogging space to people from these forums that believe they can string a couple of ideas together and present them to the rest of the Greek diaspora that is humngry for knowledge and information.

As an example, our moderator Genome and (probably/maybe) the2ndMouse will be in charge of the blog AEK360, a blog where anything and everything is about AEK and people can sign up and share your opinion. The blog is not meant to compete or substitute the AEK forums - rather it is meant to supplement.

However, those that are interested in heading their very own blogging space will have to be firstly approved by the moderators and admins of these forums. The reason why is simple. Since the blogs are going to be tied in with the rest of Phantis and promoted through the services of Phantis, Phantis would like to kick-start the service with some quality bloggers.

There are other services that offer free blogging space, and even other forums that offer blogging services. However, Phantis is the only Greek oriented service that targets a broader spectrum of interests, encompassing things like sports, arts and politics.

So, if anybody is interested in becoming a blogger on the Phantis Blog Network, just let us know either by replying to me in private via PM or by announcing your interest here.

Looking forward to having you join us in our brand new service.
