CH-Thrylos
speaking of 31... this was the 32nd game that oly played on the road and the first one in 12 years that they play without anatolakis.. whos number was 32... just a thought    i bet they'll bring this comment in some of the morning shows tomorrow. finally. i couldn't watch the match. saw the 1-0 on the teletext and before i wanted to go to bed, i wanted to see the final score. but now i watched all the highlights on tv. i can't believe it. thanks to nikopolidis we didn't conced more goals and finally it was us who scored in the final minutes. could this really be the change we were waiting for? good luck to all the teams tomorrow. :gr: :gr:
NikosVazelas
ok here it is. The summary of everything. the game, the players and the reason why greek teams are fairing well. and i will use oly as an example so i thought it wuld fit to talk about it in the ol forum. First off the game. Very Easily explained. the reason oly won. Nikopolidis. Werder had 4 classic chances (including 3 in the first half) and nikopolidis made the saves. from then on, oly took over. Ceasar was amazing as a sub because of his height and took the air game away from the germans.antzas was slow on a few plays but did the job adequately.Bravo was shaky all game long and had only the shot on net on the kova goal to compensate. Stoltidis,Patsazoglu and djordjevic were amazing. especially patsazoglu. he played as a DM and did fantastic not to mention scoring the winner with a stunner. Torosidis had some good runs but in the end was subbbed due to a slight pull. Lua Lua did well for a while then had some off moments. he played great without the ball but his passing was off. Still he is a threat based purely on his speed. Galetti was good but ran too much and was dead tiredafter 70. Kova came on and did what oly hasnt had in maybe 9 years. He did the job of a CF. yes he is old and yes he is slow, but he knows what to do with the football. Now when it comes to the greek teams doing so well, its fairly simple. Youth. When pao had their runs, they had youth all over their lineup. When panionio was in the UEFA cup three years ago and faired well, they ahd all youngins in. This year larisa, panionio, aris all have young teams. And as for the big three, they all have youth. some more then others. but when u look at oly, from 2 years ago, when rivaldo, georgatos, anatolakis etc running around, or should i say, hobbling around, they couldnt do sh*t. now they have toro, patsa, ledesma, galetti and youth on the bench. and even if they are not the youngest team, at least they dont average 32 years old like before. only tw players were over 30 and kova that came on later. When pao decided to try to sign older, "'Established'' players, i.e consecao, biscan etc. they did nothing in europe. Its all about youth and stop worrying about stars coming on. You wanna bring fans to the stadium, win in europe and play good football. All the rivaldos, flavios and biscans of the world can go to turkey and play. we liek our kids and we like em young. Damn that sounded bad.. i mean football wise anyway. later skaters

DUDE
THE END OF THE WORLD IS COMING    @ Nikosvazelas, I just got back re... After the full time whistle I nearly went to hospital. I couldn't breathe. Then I came about, got a couple of flares with friends, smuggled them into the uni night club and set them off in the hall!!! (Don't worry we were safe, we did it in the empty part of the hall next to the fire exit) :D Needless to say we were thrown out& have been banned for the rest of the year (which, since it's my final year, means it's a life ban... but it was worth it). I haven't gone this nuts since Euro 2004, PAO's 4-1 win over Fener & Anorthosi's win over Trabzonspor. Lemonis' substitution was amazing!!! Torosidi, Galletti, Ledesma, Patsa, Stolditi & Djole were incredible. Kovacevic was inspirational and Lua Lua worked his socks off. Domi was superb before being injured and we finally look like we have a good left back in him this season. However, a special mention has to go to Nikopolidi. Turning back the years to pull off some super saves!!! Antzas and Bravo were the only weak links for me. Top of the group on GD and 2 big games to come against Real. Our fans need to lift the roof off the stadium against Real!!! By the way Greece is flying this year!!! Oly for the CL and the semis of the UEFA Cup to read like this: PAO vs Panionios and AEK vs Aris!! :P :gr:
athinaios
hehehe Whoever did bet tonight LOST !!! 100% LOL :hypocrite: (Well done to Olympiakos :) ) Now, that explains it! It's about money! B) Probably some Greek in the catering business put something in the water/food of Werden players! OK, I have to admit, this is a great result and one that you totally deserved the way you handled the game. Bravo! Is Lemonis GOD now, or what? Oh, until the next time he loses to PAO & AEK... Kidding re, enjoy your win. Maybe you'll get busy in Europe and let us get a domestic league title

This is the first season in about a decade that the team has been given fresh blood and hopefully Nikopolidis doesn't let the team down as he is just about the last player remaining who has the stigma of losing CL games away. Some players like Djole, Patsa and Stoltidis are worthy to continue but it's about time the negative psychology has lifted! Pittman and me salute Thrylos! Great day. GreekLunatic
Who would ever thought Lemonis was the coach to get us our first win away. Great second half .Well done to the boys and i hope we can continue like how we played 2nd half through the rest of our games.

Actually "very happy" doesn't describe my overall feelings right now. I am at a loss of words for this fantastic achievement by our club. It is a big and historic win and I am glad to witness. Did I predict a loss? Yes, yes I did. But guess what? I AM ###### HAPPY AS HELL THEY PROVED ME WRONG! KEEP PROVING ME WRONG! I WANT TO BELIEVE! I REALLY DO! Akritis_1944
Epitelous! Great away win. This is merely the beginning, the club and all it's fans need to be patient and work hard. In saying that, ALL Greek clubs have to start rebuilding and achieving results in Euro comps so we can finally arrest the slide of the last 5 seasons. I firmly believe that the Greek League can reclaim the 6th spot again. :gr: Btw, if anyone is interested Pittman privately messaged me and apologised for acting like a mapa over the last few months about Oly and "Euro porn" etc. about "laff laff laff". Even cowgirls get the blues I guess.

NikosVazelas
I think its imprtant that all us fans unite to congratulate greece's 'best team' finally winning a game on the road. it only took 15 years and 31 tries. by the way, this sick pao fan, called in supersport and asked the host of the show to give the details of all of oly's and pao' games and total coefficients. it was funny but also surprising to find out that oly has 2 coefficient points less then pao in the cl. the pao fan said thank you and was pissed but then.. the host said.. ''Of Course, oly has played 9 games more then pao has even though oly has been in it every year since 1995 and pao has missed the 5 times since then.''
