I don't know what you're talking about with Udese. He is part of PAOK and has a contract until 2005. The problem is that he has been called to the Nigerian NT to play in the Africa Cup, which takes place in the month of January. Unfortunately FIFA rules state that the teams have to let the players join their respective NT when called up.

It was reported in the Canadian Press today that "Alen Marcina, a 24-year-old forward from Surrey, B.C., has signed a three-year deal with Greek club FC PAOK."

He will apparently be loaned to another (I'm assuming in a lower division) club right away.

Do you guys have any information on this signing or which club he will be loaned too ?

Thanks,

Winnipeg Fury

Here's the article Winnipeg Fury was referring to:

GREEK SIGNING: Alen Marcina, a 24-year-old forward from Surrey, B.C., has signed a three-year deal with Greek club FC PAOK.

Marcina played for the Ottawa Wizards of the CPSL in 2003 with nine goals and eight assists in 10 games. Prior to that, he was an NCAA Div. 2 all-American at Florida's Barry University.

The 24-year-old is Barry University's all-time leading scorer with 62 goals.

"He's very quick, very talented," agent Eric Manasse of Logosport said Monday from Westport, Conn. "He plays on the left side, scores a lot of goals."

Marcina went over on a trial and earned the contract after scoring in a friendly.

PAOK will loan the Canadian to a lower division side for six months, until an import spot opens up.

It was released in the Canadian Press yesterday. If you go to Logosport, they have the press release (which is basically what the Canadian Press copied, and what was just posted above).

Can you find out more information on this kid, particularly where he is currently playing (if he is loaned out) ?

The Cypriot Liaso Louka might be travelling to Thessaloniki in the next day or two in order to talk with PAOK officials. Another name liked with PAOK is the Aris keeper Lampakis, who has filed a "prosfygi" against Aris in order to remain a free agent.

As for Andralas, who has a signed deal with PAOK, he will remain with Proodevtiki at least until the next game against Olympaikos, and after that it will be determined if he will join PAOK now or after the end of the season.

The situation with Maladenis appears to be going nowhere. The player wants to come to PAOK, but the team is not willing to pay the money he is asking for. Apparently this tranfer will not happen.

After being told by Kokkalis to find a new team, the Eleftheropoulos name has been rumored in the Thessaloniki press as possible transfer to PAOK. However it appears that PAOK has no intentions whatsoever to consider making an offer for the over-paid goalkeeper.

PAOK is trying to sign Dimitris Kafes (brother of ex-PAOK player Pantelis Kafes) from Veria and in return loan him to Proodevtiki in the deal that would bring Andralas to PAOK after the Proodevtiki's game with Olympiakos.

The latest transfer news is that Louka has signed a 4.5 year deal with PAOK, but for him to join the team, his prosfygi agaist Nea Salamina has to become final first.

Andralas will most likely join PAOK after Proodeftiki's game with Olympiakos. In return PAOk will loan to Proodeftiki Thankgod Amaefule and Dimitris Kafes. Kafes will first get a transfer from veroia to PAOK.

I'll see what I can find out about Marcina.

The latest on Andralas is that PAOK will wait until the summer to get the player. That's when his contract expires with proodevtiki. he has allready siogned a deal with PAOK. PAOK were hoping to get him now, but the owners of Proodevtiki tried to get more money out of PAOK.

Well Maladenis eventually agreed to sign with PAOK. He will be a player for PAOK for the next 2.5 years and he will be paid 150K per season. Additional PAOK also signed a young Canadian player whose last name is Fernandez, and who holds a Portuguese passport.
