Seems weird that you'd start - or even play - Oikonomou there when Stafylidis is a left back and would be the logical choice there. If Skibbe called up - and played - any wingers at all, that's where he would have been in this match.

I doubt that it would give us an appreciable boost (assuming we even win against who we're going again), but the EPO's unwillingness to organize friendlies has been driving me nuts for years now. Every opportunity we have is utterly wasted. And it wasn't that long ago that the people who would be chosen to play in these friendlies were Karagounis, Katsouranis, and Gekas.

We did not look equal to Belgium. It was only our CBs that kept our heads above water, for loooong periods of time. Tzavellas should have been subbed out at halftime, with Stafylidis shifting into LB. It was GUARANTEED that Tzavellas would have gotten another card. Maduro's going to be a free agent this summer. You'll recall that after he moved to his new home, he noted that it was impossible to get noticed at a club in Greece, so he's glad to be home. He played a total of three times this season. I doubt many people noticed him.
