  4. Bad news and I am feeling sad already ??? Papachristou pulled out of the World Championship because of a Achilles Tendon injury, they said it is to be serious. She will go into rehab and should be ready for Tokyo 2020.
  5. I have always stress that any Greek athletes who have a chance at a medal or at least qualify for the finals either in a track or field event should break their own PB or NR to achieve such goals.
  6. Last time those 2 teams met was in the 1972-73 UEFA Cup Olympiakos defeated Tottenham in Greece 1-0 Tottenham defeated Olympiakos in England 4-0 Our referee for this upcoming match is Gianluca Rocchi of Italy.

  8. As expected, Greece will likely get 1 medal from Stefanidi. What I love to see is athletes like Anastasakis, Papachristou, Tentoglou or Karalis try to qualify for the finals and give a good showing. For the sprinters and hurdler, a semifinals appearance would be great.
  9. If I read this correctly, Anagnostopoulou will get the second wild card because a Brazilian discus thrower is suspended for possible doping offense.
  10. How do athletes drop out of the competition? If they earn the spot, why not go to the World Championship?
  11. United States out of the tournament, 89-79 loss to France in the quarterfinals.
