  1. Nice interview by Ivic and agree about his Greek ... superb! I am intrigued by what he said regarding the team sustaining so many injuries. Specifically his belief that it's not the training pitches and that he believes he is close to find the "answer".
  2. The timing of the points deduction was unjust but also very convenient for PAO. Savvidis was too busy playing cuddly bears with Alafouzos to notice he was getting fleeced.
  3. Call me naive, but I'm getting tired of all these allegations of corruption without any actual specifics. Give me names, dates, recordings, bank accounts, bank account transfers, threats ... something. Not just "it's corrupt" or articles from journalists that are pretty much hearsay.
  4. Destroy Christianity and replace it with the gods of Ancient Greece ?! I always thought they were pretty cool.
  5. Depends what you're talking about. I would agree they are worse than the older generation in many ways, but I don't see the hatred that was a part of the old generation, at least not to the same degree. But alas, I am generalizing on a massive scale.
  6. Emphasis in bold is mine. No chance. Let me rephrase that, zero chance. Hate is hate unfortunately. The only fix is time ... meaning older generation dying off and hopefully the newer generation being not so indoctrinated.
  7. Klaus and the club behave like spoiled children. It's embarrassing. Here's a tip, how about Klaus actually starts playing well before he gets considered for the NT. Right now, he should be happy he's not in the NT. I know I am.
  8. For getting second position the squad is mostly fine. Just need a quality CB and CM with experience to stop conceding silly goals and all of a sudden we are a 20 point better team per season. For challenging for the title and presumably having a squad that would not get embarrassed in the CL :- Goalkeepers : none are good enough. Defense : only Tzavellas is good enough and he is a kolo paido. Midfield : only Cimirot ... maybe. Forwards : only Mak and Rodrigues and Mak probably won't be there. All the rest not good enough. So it's a simple fix ... just need to buy a new team.
  9. If Savvidis had half a brain he would have kept Tudor until the end of the season and then let him go. It would be a calculated risk that in keeping Tudor you wouldn't miss out on the play-offs, but realistically the odds of making the playoffs are better than not making them. The squad is ... good enough ... to at least do that I would think. Now, all of the above is based on the assumption that Savvidis will try and sign a "class" manager. If his intention is to keep Ivic or just get a whatever manager then his decision is fine. But if his intention is to attempt to sign a class manager then he has grossly miscalculated and it will fail. It will fail because the prospective manager will look at the record of the previous 4 seasons and think, f**k that, this club has no stability. So once again Savvidis will have to sign whoever he can. If he somehow finds a manager with pedigree, it will be someone like Huub who has the name but doesn't really "have it" anymore which in reality means he's not really signing a class manager but a has been. Let's see if Savvidis can make it 5 out 5 next season. Bravo idiot.
  10. Maybe I'm delusional, but I still think there is a decent core in the team to work with. Do we deserve to be 5th ? Yes we do. We concede more goals than most teams, we concede late goals often and the defense is still shaky. But I haven't seen any team other than OLY clearly outplay us. Sometimes we struggle when the opposition parks the bus but that goes for all teams. It's been said time and again, a CB of real quality and a DM/CM to boss the middle with physical presence, and all of a sudden the prezonia will be kissing Savvidis's feet.
  11. I won't be posting for a while. I've got a "thlasi" on my ass and will be out for 4 weeks.
  12. This idea would have Austrian economists turning in their graves, but if the conditions are suitable it can work. The biggest impediment would be the 1% who would see their share so to speak ... watered down. Their would be outcries of Germanic style hyperinflation. But I don't see any reason why in theory it couldn't work, you just need to be careful how you implement it. In fact, I think it's the only way you could rebalance the world economy and spur growth. Right now there is a lot of idle productive capacity that isn't being used because "the economy is weak" which is really just fancy talk for "people are broke". Give those people a "living wage" and you absolutely get the economy moving. But again, "helicopter" money is only taken seriously when it's given to big banks who do nothing with it because" the economy is weak" and it just sits there not getting into circulation. Apparently, this is sober and responsible economics. Go figure.
  13. This is what happens when the EU has you by the balls. Any time they want Greece to do anything, they will threaten to sink the economy. They even gave us a taste of what will happen when they stopped supplying money to Greek banks just before the infamous OXI vote. The day they did that was the day that Greece should have left the EU, regardless of the short to medium term economic consequences. But when push came to shove, the majority of people didn't have the stomach for it. Be it the political class, rich, poor and everyone in between. They wanted the benefits of EU membership without having to reorganise their economy. If Tsipras (not that it would ever have happened anyway) or anyone else had threatened and actually went through with Grexit he probably would have been assassinated. This situation where the majority of people were saying OXI to the austerity but NAI to EU membership is f**king ridiculous. When I first saw that I wasn't sure I was seeing it correctly, but there it was. National schizophrenia. Greece wants to have its cake and eat it too, the f**ing end.
  14. You can call Tudor a mistake but it's all easy in hindsight. Arnesen had to find a manager in a short amount of time because we had EL qualifiers coming up and the team was on its knees in terms of confidence. If we want results, we shouldn't be playing kids. Pelkas, Mystakidis, Antonis, Kitsiou, Charisis even Chatziisaias are all too inexperienced. They will make mistakes and that's just the way it is. If we can't cope with the learning curve, then give them all the boot.
  15. Not sure what your expectation were. We got a bunch of young and unknown players. The only player I'm disappointed with is Leovac who at 27 years of age and at 1.3M Euros you expect him to be a fairly complete player who would at the very least lock down the LB position. Add to that a manager who was fairly inexperienced as well. If you want more, we need to spend more, a whole lot more.
  16. Really needed 3 points considering we'll probably get -6 for the vlakies in Toumba. Anyhow, and that's game.
  17. It seems to be a common theme that we struggle to score but concede goals so easily. Who is this Kakko kid ?
  18. Truly they are a terrible team. Considering their fan base they deserve a lot better than the crap McClaren dishes up but then again they haven't been competitive since Asprilla played.
  19. Isn't it a bit too early in the morning for this ?
  20. To be fair we have Antonis (22) Pelkas (22) and Mystakidis (21) up front. All young so I expect as much. I'd rather them than Klaus and Berbatov.
