  1. It just seems as though whenever there's a chance for open play they make sure they slow it down. Very difficult to watch.
  2. Wow this is hard to watch. We're just passing it back and forth in our half.
  3. Greece does a whole of nothing with the ball in their own half passing it back and forth with each other. I wonder if they practice that.
  4. We can't there's no synchronicity with this team. they look like they panic every time they get the ball and settle for the safe back pass. Very bad. We needed the 2-0 by halftime. Did you notice how Finland wasted time in the first half? That will be nothing compared to the 2nd.
  5. So bad botched passes. Seems as the only passes that are accurate are Greece's famous back passes. And why is Siovas blasting it out like that???
  6. Guys Mantalos is so bad. Almost as bad as Bakasetas, who will probably sub in for him.
  7. Bakasetas is impotent and weak. The worst performer on the current squad. I don't understand how he gets called up, let alone start. Lazaros gets left out for him ?
  8. Why do people think he will play 3 at the back just because he picked Siovas? K. Papadopoulos, who, at 100%, is better than Siovas, was being called up for years and we have yet to see 3 CBs.
  9. My opinion on the above: Holebas isn't coming back at 34 years old. Retsos should be in subs. Mantalos in subs as well and a better holding midfielder than him next to Zeca in the starting 11.
  10. It's insane to leave out Lazaros and fetfa for Bakasetas and Mantalos who have offered virtually nothing to the NT in the last couple of years.
  11. Selections have been made by new manager Anastasiadis for the upcoming Nations League matches. Goalkeepers: Vasilis Barkas (AEK), Alexandros Paschalakis (PAOK), Odysseas Vlachodimos (Benfica). Defenders: Kostas Manolas (AS Roma), Sokratis Papastathopoulos (Arsenal), Dimitris Siovas (Leganes), Vasilis Lampropoulos (AEK), Michalis Bakakis (AEK), Vasilis Torosidis (Olympiacos), Leonardo Koutris (Olympiacos), Dimitris Giannoulis (Atromitos). Midfielders: Andreas Samaris (Benfica), Andreas Bouchalakis (Olympiacos), Petros Mantalos (AEK), Dimitris Pelkas (PAOK), Anastasios Bakasetas (AEK), Konstantinos Fortounis (Olympiacos), Dimitris Kourbelis (Panathinaikos), Carlos Zeca (FC Copenhagen), Giorgos Masouras (Panionios). Forwards: Konstantinos Mitroglou (Marseille), Efthymis Koulouris (Atromitos), Nikos Karelis (PAOK). IMO: Positives: New blood Vlachodimos and Koutris, Samaris and Siovas back, Tziolis and Tzavellas era done. Negatives: Bakasetas and Mantalos over Lazaros and Fetfatzidis, Karnezis excluded. Key injuries: Retsos (activated by Leverkusen but not yet in game shape after lengthy injury), Donis, Papadopoulos, Stafylidis. Note: Several notable talents left out in order for them to play in crucial U21 Euro Fixtures.
  12. Called up to the NT. Potential Greek #1 for the next decade. Important moment for the ethniki and credit to EPO taking the necessary steps to get FIFA approval, before he becomes too good and Germany comes knocking.
  13. It seems to be official that Odysseas Vlachodimos has been cleared by FIFA to represent Greece, and is expected to be called up as soon as the upcoming Nations League matches vs Finland and Estonia in a couple of weeks.
  14. He is in form at 88 online now. Highest rating ever attained by a Greek player in FIFA.

    NT Coaches

I am curious to see how these players respond to a Greek coach. None of them have ever had a permanent Greek coach at the NT level. Will definitely be a change of dynamic.
