  1. Lua Lua has undergone surgery and Nunez will be sold to Steaua Bucharest according to Supersport.gr
  2. Will he play or will they look to strengthen?
  3. I can't wait til we beat England!! :gr:
  4. Liverpool have signed P. Degen too so they obviously recognize that they need to add width if they want to challenge for the title.
  5. http://www.goal.com/en/Articolo.aspx?Conte...tenutoId=711389 Latest name to be linked is Lyon's manager Alain Perrin. Thoughts?
  6. Guys the trial finished and he left (I think)... He's back at Ergo.
  7. Biggest game of Celtic's season and he was on the bench though... not a great sign.
  8. So fine him then, you go and put him on the transfer list?Unless this is a scare tactic it's awfully dumb! Lua Lua works his arse off for the team in every game he plays. He doesn't stop running until the soles of his shoes have worn off, so his being late to training is more to do with a lack of discipline than a lack of desire or effort. So fine him to discipline him, but when he has such passion and desire AND when he's one of the best players in the team you've got to be a retard to place him on the transfer list.
  9. Like I've said, this team is run by megalomaniacs and I hate to say it but I'm starting to see why so many non-Olympiakos fans call them a cancer. We had a good team this year. Regardless of whether or not the football was always great, the acheivements in Europe were amazing and man for man Olympiakos have a good team. We had a foundation for building something brilliant... so what's the logical next step? Kokkali should have had a meeting with Lemonis and Ivic, he should have said "right, you guys are football-men, you've done very well this year but we expect more next year. What is it you need to build on this current success?" Instead, they sacked Lemonis and Ivic and have put Lua Lua on the transfer list. They're clueless!!!! We take 1 step forward & 12 steps back. The only way that Kokkali will stop hurting this team is to win nothing for a few years gia na balei mialo o m#$%!s!
  10. This management is power-crazy! Malakes!!! PLEASE PAO WIN THE LEAGUE NEXT YEAR, PLEASE!!!!!!!!!
  11. What happened? I heard he had an argument with Segura... but why is he leaving? Where's he supposed to be going?
  12. Yes and he's got you a CL spot in his first season (something you've failed to acheive in the last 2 years... give Pesseiro a chance re paidia)
  13. Ernesto Valverde is guy guy who is being tipped to manage us (the current Espanyol manager who has never won anything... he's pefect! ) I am joking... he guided Espanyol to their first European final in 19 years so he should be a good addition.
  14. I'm sure Segura will remain at some capacity, although probably not as manager. As for Giannakopoulos, I've seen him alot this season. He's decent for the Greek league but not for Olympiakos... Aris, Panionios, Larisa, etc, yes he'd do well. He's a right midfielder primarily and he is miles behind Galletti. That's my opinion... what do you think?
  15. Apart from Dawson and Sidwell, all the players I've suggested are forign re. :) Although you're right that a nowm exists of English players staying in England, Gazza and Ince played in Italy, Lua Lua is practically English as is Kazim Richards, Harte played in Spain for Levante so did Vinny Samways, Beckham has gone from Real to the US, etc. British players don't go abroad because they're usually not good enough technically, but where exceptions exist they seem willing to give it a shot. If you're Dawson for example sitting on the bench at Tottenham, and the other team interested in you is Sunderland, would you not consider CL football at Olympiakos? He may be too pig-headed like you say, and there are many like that, but we won't know if we don't pursue them. But who cares, as Crazy says, we just sacked a great director of football and have no manager, who exactly will bring in these players? Kokkali will buy a couple of decent players from within the league, Cardozo, Cleyton, & Avraam, and that'll be it. Yeah he'll throw a couple of big names around to get the fans excited, but nothing will come of it. He'll keep Segura or get some other mediocre bum at the helm, we'll lose a couple of games in the CL and Gate 7 will start complaining about Ivic and Lemoni, as well as the big names that Kokkali promised. Then just when things can't get any worse, Oly will beat AEK or PAO, and all the sheep will be happy once more with their omadara: Olympiakara... sound familiar?
  16. I've always been a fan of poaching top players from relegated teams, but I'm afraid I disagree with you file. I don't think any of those players good offer anything to Oly (only possibly Larsson as a back-up, but they've just signed him and he'd be expensive. His ability just doesn't equate to his price). Kenny Miller from Derby is a good forward, but again same problem with price vs ability. McFadden is a good player, but very inconsistent and doesn't get goals. In a team that plays counter-attack he good be a useful addition though. Only problem is that he's too similar too Lua Lua, but not as good.Zarate who was on loan at Birmingham is a paixtara but the Saudi team that owns him wants something like
  17. Well there were about 4 goals in Middlesborough's 8-1 demolition of Man City that could be contenders of goal of the season. Stuart Downing's in particular was technically exceptional.
  18. How are you buddy?I don't have anything against him as a person. Unlike many others I don't actually consider the kid to be arrogant. I'm a little disappointed in his character, i.e. his laziness. But overall he strikes me a decent kid. However, I don't rate him as a player and the reason I come across as so anti-Samaras is because I think there are great negatives associated with him being so overrated. For example, if people with great influence (such as the Greek media and fans collectively) rate him so much, this is bound to seep into footballing decisions. So, although Samaras isn't as good as Lybe or Salpi (in my opinion) the hype that surrounds him may earn him a place in the team instead; and the Greek team will suffer as a result. Secondly, I remember that a few of us had a discussion on here not long ago about the reasons Greek players are so underrated overseas. Just to remind you the discussion was filled with questions similar to: "why is it that Alex Fergusen for example is considering a
  19. Yes but we have to remember that the defences at the Euros will be much more organized than Motherwell's. I mean just look at the goal the conceded against Samaras & you'll see why I rate the Scottish league (apart from the top 2) as the same level with Cyprus.Has Samaras ever scored from a corner against a good team? In fact, has Samaras ever scored any sort of goal against a good team because I can't remember one.

  21. Btw Mitroglou scored 2 goals today :nw: he always scores The kid's a paixtara.
  22. The Mitroglou comment is figure of speech "o logos to exei" as the saying goes. Obviously he's not ready for NT football yet, but he's not overrated either. Whenever he plays he seems to score, he's very strong (and will only get stronger as his physique matures), he's good in the air, he's hard-working and clever. He needs to refine all these attributes of course, but he has the tools/weapons to go to the top. Samaras is more experienced and refined, but when Mitroglou is his age I guarantee he'll be better. As for Samaras being the best striker in Greece... Sorry re file, but with all due respect, that's ridiculous! He'd be nowhere near the best, no where near! Lybe, Blanco, Salpi, Kovacevic, Lua Lua, Manucho, Djibbour, Metin, Konstantinou (when fully fit) are all better than Samaras. And Choutos, Metin, Cleyton, Radzinski & Koke could all make strong cases for being more effective than Samaras. Sorry, but Samaras is nowhere near the top strikers in Greece.
  23. I know I'm starting to sound like a broken record, but akoma me vgaloun trello. The kid is not good enough!!! He lacks the physical capability to ever be a good player. It's not something he can work on either, even if he takes steroids, he'll still be petite and weak, and he's slow too. Players that don't have any physical athleticism (strength or pace) must have some other extra ordinary skill. For example, Gekas is neither strong, nor very quick (yes he's quicker than Samaras, but he's no Torres), but he's got a great finish. Lybe is neither quick nor strong, but he has a brain. Crouch is neither strong nor quick but he's great in the aerial game. Samaras however has no weapons whatsoever. If he was raised in Greece he wouldn't even be in the NT now. AND ON TOP OF THAT, HE'S GETTING ARROGANT NOW TOO!!! Pou katantisame re otan vgalan tetious paixtes: "Greece shining light" and "the most skilled Greek forward"? Re he wouldn't even get into Cyprus' team when everyone is fully fit and we expect him to make an impact at Euro 2008? Take Mitroglou instead re Otto!
  24. Oh him! He plays for Nea Salamina. He seems like a decent young player but not someone that will really help Oly in the short term.
