  1. These are the dark ages file, we previously lost 4 games straight in 1995 but that team recovered and played football, that team would put 3-4 goals on this lost group of players. We are the worst we have ever been in modern times and we need a clean out in many areas, primarily EPO.

  2. Coach can’t be to blame as he’s barely seen the players. Pelkas, Kourbelis, kolovos, Bakakis and stafylidis should not be part of the set up ever again. vrousai showed energy and skill but this team needs fortounis and donis at their top level to help compete. Fetfatzidis should have started or at least come on at half time. The lack of energy and SKILL is unbelievable

  3. I've been saying the same thing since We failed to qualify in 2016. You could see the writing on the wall. Greece will not qualify for another tournament for a long long long time. We could already tell when as Euro champions we couldn't even qualify for the World Cup in Germany shame?? We won the Euros in 04 but what has changed? There has been no change with the federation or teams in building youth. Look at portugal where they keep challenging for youth titles and pumping out young players. What does Greece have? Nothing. I hope we all enjoyed those 5 tournaments we qualified for since 04. Because we won't qualify again. Lol ?

  4. Look he didn’t call up Donis and Mitroglou as they are unfit. We shouldn’t have to rely on these guys all the time and when we do will still don’t get the job done most of the time. Vrousai and Pavlidis looked fine. We can use them in the future. We can work with them. You can’t work with guys like Koulouris, Kourbelis, Bakakis etc. The whole team is at fault.

  5. Tsimikas should've started. He's been in great form for champions league olympiakos also, we didn't start our 4 best attacking third palyers Donis, Mitroglou, Fetfatzidis, Fortounis (Injury). Mitroglou Donis Fortounis Fetfa Kourbelis Zeca Tsimikas Manolas Sokratis Torosidis Vlachodimos I what I would've done. Since Fortounis was injured I'd just slot Vrousai or Pelkas in there as the CAM. Mitroglou can make something out of nothing as he's shown at PSV 2 goals playing on 15 minutes + target man / strength. pelkas I think is decent when playing central but I think he was put out wide again.

  6. Exactly on Kolovos. He was good for 20 minutes vs Bosnia, then make him a super-sub, not a permanent fixture. He sucks unfortunately. Toro is bad and out of shape. He had cramps in both legs and we wasted an important sub on him late in the game. I hate to beat an old drum, and I get that he is not what we thought would pan out, but for god's sake, give Fetfa 10 minutes so he can run at those Finnish league defenders and maybe force a play. He was one of the only player the coach didn't even warm up. Are the forwards at our disposal that much better? What an utter failure.

  7. Another campaign failed prematurely. Losing to subpar opposition. FInland was lucky to win, but we are a dreadful team nonetheless. Sokratis will retire in 2 months and a major piece of this generation will be gone. We have no players of this calibre in the ranks. As for the game, Greece is very slow. All they are good at is passing the ball back. Their crosses and long-balls stink as always. There is no hope for this team. They coulnd't even give us meaningful games in october and november the cowards.

  8. Not much to write home about. Dunno if Torosidis and Stafylidis are the backs we need... distribution from the back has been ridiculously slow. There have been some small signs of life in attack but we've really not troubled or gotten behind the Fins in attack. I would like to see Fetfa come in at some point for Kolovos, Zeca may be able to help the slow play at the back

  9. Im not a fan of surprises lol. Barkas over Vlachodimos? I do like that samaris didn't make the cut though. I suppose it doesn't look too bad. I like the 4-3-2-1, Its a refreshing change. Finally game day! hope the boys came to play

  10. Looks like Van Skip making a few surprises to the starting line-up Barkas Toro, Soc, Manolas, Stafylidis Kourbelis, Bouchalakis, Vrousai Masouras, Kolovos Koulouris https://www.sport24.gr/football/ellada/ethniki_elladas/ethnikh-elladas-me-ekplhkseis-h-prwth-endekada-toy-fan-sip.5590816.html

  11. Agonasport says he will most likely be starting. I can see that happening for his leadership and also to satisfy Sokratis and Manolas.

  12. Lol what's funny is that if you compare the current talent pool to what we had available to us in Brazil for WC 2014, I think this group is much better individually. There is just something not clicking on any level.

  13. Koulouris seems like he's better on the ground. So someone like fetfa would've been perfect to feed him through balls but alas

  14. Very true but dont black flag Koulouris, he is a good player, he has been part of the worst Ethniki teams I have ever seen and does not get much service, he CAN help us

  15. Yep, only missed the 2006 World Cup in that span and even that was close. Won the Euro, got back into Euro 2008, qualified for South Africa, got into Euro 2012, did well, only lost when we ran into Germany. Qualified for Brazil, got out of our group, really should have at least got to the quarterfinals. As soon as we got back from Brazil, boom, lose to Faroe Islands twice, get nowhere near Euro 2016, did a little better trying to qualify for Russia, lost a playoff to the eventual runners-up, but then a lackluster showing in the Nations League, and now another poor showing as we're all set to miss Euro 2020. Anyone think this team will be in Qatar? Ha!

  16. Kolovos scores 1 flukey header and now he's a permanent fixture in the squad. Somehow Tsimikas, who tore it up in UCL qualys, is on the bench in favor of Stafylidis. Toro, the old man who is barely a bench player at Oly, earns a start. Vrousai, some Albanian nobody, earns a start.

  17. It's really bad when we can't finish 2nd in this cream puff group with Finland, Bosnia and Armenia. Gamoto..

  18. Our performance: Barkas 6 - Torosidis 5 (Bakakis 5), Manolas 6, Sokratis 5.5, Stafylidis 5 - Bouchalakis 5, Vrousai 5.5, Kourbelis 5.5 - Masouras 5, Koulouris 4.5 (Pavlidis 5.5), Kolovos 4.5 (Pelkas 5). A wholly mediocre production. Defense was okay in the first half. Then they conceded a penalty. In midfield we missed Zeca IMO. In the attacking third, we did nothing, except for some flashes from Vrousai and Pavlidis.

  19. 2003-2014, that was our golden age. Everything has just fallen off a cliff since Brazil ended.

  20. When you don't play with balls, you will never get any positive results. Greece has now lowered there standard with the likes of San Marino and Andorra.

  22. Manolas, Sokratis and Toro. If Greece loses this match, maybe it's time to replace the back group. So tired of seeing these guys pass it back to the keeper. They are supposed to be good players. They don't play that inspired and get beat a fair bit. They can't be confused with the back line of the 2004 team.

  23. Greece might as well sub on more attacking players and press for goals now. They cannot afford to lose this match.

  24. We made it!!! Half time with no goals conceded!! Took us 25 min to get into some kind of offensive groove but it’s happenng. The players need to build chem that’s the why the passes are looking so sloppy, they don’t anticipate their teammates movements. Plus this is a very young team up top and I’m sure the nerves had to do a lot with it. We are not playing a pretty game but I think we may be able to salvage a result. I find kolovos extremely lazy this game. Vroussai is lost too, hasn’t had much an impact yet but I’m glad he’s getting time with the team I think he will be a big part of our attack in the future. I want to see a bit more sprints from the boys up top, im not kidding when I say that the midfield brings up the ball at the same speed as sokratis. And this is on fast breaks too. I’m gonna assume it’s nerves and see how the second half goes.

  25. Lol this team is struggling to score against a squad whose back 4 play for Montreal Impact, Pafos FC, Genk and BK Hacken. Finland are nothing to write home about guys.

  26. Distribution from our fullbacks is far too slow and trapping us at the back. If one of Kolovos’s passes finds its mark we can be dangerous

  28. Correct, Greece have themselves to blame for blowing a 15 point lead against Brazil and played a crappy 3rd quarter which cost them that game and the potential quarterfinals appearance.

  30. Dean baby, if Toro, Sok and Manolas don't aim up in these two games, Skip will ask Valkanis and Winter to carry their bags to the bus stop. I don't know why, I would like to see Grammenos and Alefantos have a wrestle.

  31. Pukki got a hat trick against Newcastle but the defense was porous. Pukki had numerous chances throughout the game. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2LGsX6jBRW8 Greece is capable of playing tough defense even though it has been there lately. Interested to see how Greece plays. Do they come out as a team and play to the level they should be at; or do they look forward their vacation on the Greek islands. Their backed into a corner but it's not like they have to beat teams that are unbeatable. Greece has to go for the win in Finland but being patient is the key. It's still a 90 minute game the last time I checked and Finland might be taking Greece lightly since Greece has never won there before. Good luck to the team.

  32. I apologize in advance if I sound grumpy but that's exactly how I see it. As my duty. As a chance to pay 5 euros to give to my team these rough times. We are eliminated from Europa league, FFP is all over us, the team is not playing good football, the 4-4-2 is not working, the players are unhappy, the PAE was trying to probably negotiate a better offer with ERT or Nova. It is my duty to say, hey there is one crazy scumbag in Miami, FL, you can count on. I will support my PAE because they are doing their best (even though they have done sooo many mistakes over the years) and I know by supporting them with 5 silly euros, they might get millions in the future if the PAOKTV business were to thrive. Hell, this is my chance to be literally useful to my team. The rest is for my pleasure/sickness. If you think of it, I don't go to the actual matches, I don't purchase tickets, I watch the games from illegal streams all these years. For PAE PAOK, the last five years I am an alleged fan, that they get almost nothing (besides a couple shirts from their store). I could might as well watch no football or be a fan of a different team. AND now magically, PAE says, Yiankos I give you the opportunity to make yourself count. When you scream at goals and missed chances and neighbors think either you a maniac or beating your girlfriend, PAE gets nothing. This was a chance to make myself part of PAE's active customer fans. Youtube subscriptions, facebook likes, and whatnot are good, but what matters the most is that. And that is the time PAE PAOK counts heads. Counts allies. People that will be there for them. Not just for the one time 5 euro thing. Screw that. That's not the big deal. The fact there is a guy in Miami, FL, that will buy happily these matches and probably be there for a season ticket or whatever gives PAE power. And hell, there is no way I am not going to be standing in the line for my pontiac head to be counted. The rest you guys say about better product, pregames, postgames, etc are good but irrelevant for me. Sure, I would be happy for them to grow and improve the quality of that. But for them to improve, they first have to sustain PAOKTV. And to sustain PAOKTV they need to know there's at least a good amount of PAOK fans that will pay for the pay per view and not use excuses about going to kafeneio or gathering 20 people in one home to watch the game. They need numbers. End of story. We had 45,000 against Panaitolikos and something like 50,000 against Slovan. That tells me, there are probably something like 5-10,000 PAOK fans abroad (Europe, Australia, and US) and 35,000-40,000 residing in Greece that bothered to buy the pay per view. The rest is να χαμε να λέγαμε και να χαμε να πούμε!
