  1. I just translated it on twitter.. seems like he's saying that Bakakis' play, specifically the well placed crossed on the goal to Karelis, makes Skibbe's decision of starting Maniatis at RB in the first leg vs Croatia unacceptable and the Greek team paid the price for such a bad decision.

  2. karelis, bakakis, staf, laz, and pelkas showed great hunger and urgency that has been lacking in our NT. add those to manolas + sokratis + retsos + zeca and we have a team of majority hustlers.

  3. 2-1 to Atromitos, our small group of fans will start a civil war in Athens with 2 flares and a chicken and the club will be forced to be disbanded.

  4. I agree that he's probably not very comfortable going forward as a full-back but he's still young and it's a position he could grow into. Don't get me wrong, if Bakakis can claim the RB spot as his own then great; Retsos would then be the #3CB. My point though is that I want someone who is defensively-responsible and won't be a liability out there (Retsos was one of the few players who didn't s%$#! themselves against the Croats). Same story for LB; as much as I liked Staf's (and before him Holevas) runs forward, their defensive lapses give/gave me heart attacks. Personally I think we haven't had a true defensively-sound LB since Fyssas. Against Croatia, Staf did directly cost us a goal so think it's fair to call him out. Maybe Lykogiannis will turn out to be a better option in the long run?

  5. ya and people were saying that bakakis is already too old at 26 and shouldn't start when i was saying we should play him LOL he brings much needed energy on the flank and staf is most definitely our starting lb since holebas is out

  6. Guys I don't want to see on the team or starting for the NT. 1) Tziolis - form obvious reasons 2)Tzavellas 3)Taxi - Is s%$#! and slow as hell 4)Samaris - Only as a bench option but not a starter 5)Fortounis - Bench option not a starter anymore 6)Bakasetas - No where near good enough to play for us as we have much better options. 7)Staf - He's okay but not good enough as a starter good bench option to have I still don't know what our best midfield option is. Maybe Zeca and Kourb. I think Pelka should start over Fourtounis for now as he brings much more energy and pace. Maybe also mantalos when he returns. Donis and Laz on the wings and Mitro in the middle. I also like Bakakis. Also we looked better in the Egypt game 1 because it was Egypt and 2 because more guys played in there natural position and we had much better flow. Skibbe has the habit of asking guys to play where they are not comfortable and that even should with Retsos.. I was always a guy to say Greece can only win by playing defence and we should focus on defence first but as i see these new generation of players we need to start thinking of having a good balance of offence and defence and not be afraid to press and F*** just sitting back. God knows we need all the chances we can get to score and we aren't going to do that by just sitting back anymore..

  7. Agreed. SL material: Platelas, Tzanakakis, Deli, Soouza, Ntounis, Kantimiris, Bargan (possibly), Moumin (albeit too slow) SL bench: Valerianos (possibly), Kanakoudis, Intzolgou (possibly) To go: Diamantopoulos, Pavlidis, Pasas, Kasos, Nikic (too slow), Bourbos, Tsoumanis (is he still in the roster?), Bastakos Question mark - Anakoglou, Milunovic, Handi, Lottas

  8. That's what we should aim for. We need to pick this team based on club form. There isn't a big difference between our players. Fortounis vs Pelkas or Stafylidis Vs Bakakis or Lazaros Vs Donis. We should pick a team of players based on their club performances.

  9. First of i don't how people can say this was a good performance. The only positive thing about this game was the result. I believe Tachtsidis and Tziolis slowed the team down a lot. They can't help themselves. Bakakis is better than Torosidis. Pelkas showed more energy and fight in that position. We have a problem and that problem is the midfield. Samaris, Tachtsidis and Tziolis should not play at all for this team. Only one can be called up. I'm not sold on Kourbelis either. Zeca is one option to have and the other is a hard decision. Our wingers were good. Lazaros, Gianniotas and Donis are talented enough to play on this team. Pelkas can be used there and not Bakasetas. Karelis played well. Hopefully Manos gets called up in the next friendlies as the season will be over by then. The performance could of been better. Which means the only way to fix this is by playing better players who like to play fast and are a fast themselves. The players that did well today were Barkas, Gianniotis, Bakakis, Stafylidis, Lazaros, Pelkas and Karelis. Also to note this Egypt team were not that good and we should have scored 4 goals. Also our 2nd team should be our 1st team. Players like Torosidis, Samaris, Fortounis, Tziolis, Tzavellas and Bakasetas should take a seat and watch how real players play.

  10. That's true, a friendly is a friendly but the same can be said for Greece as well. We've been an underachieving, largely uninspired side for the past 4 years so it's nice to see a breath of fresh air and some positive play from our team. That being said, Salah is on a great run of form so you should be competitive in your group. I wish Egypt best of luck at the World Cup and hope for continued good relations between our countries in the future; after all, we do share a historical and cultural bond.

  12. Literally, any result is good for us as long as we win our match. That's the case when top 4 play between each other and 3rd and 4th are trailing by a solid margin on table, and two only can go up. Of course, draw there is the best, but let's stay focused on our match.

  14. LOL! No, I would be terrified if I ever see a large, violent tornado in my path. I just upload some pics so you guys can see them. I never want to be a storm chaser. Tornadoes can strike anywhere around the world, including Greece. One F-2 tornado hit a city (Ilias) not real far from my birthplace in Patras back in 2009.

  15. Fortounis does get some quality chances from time to time but honestly he looks like one of our laziest players that kind of sucks the energy out of the team.. yes he is a good player but rarely shows it for the national team.. I think Pelkas should be given more opportunities going forward. Baks should not be a starter for this team as he is just s%$#!... Samaris shows flashes but mostly disappoints and his pass selection and giveaway from time to time is mind blowing... Donis is one player that brings a lot of energy and speed and usually creates something for us... Mitro is our go to go but such a one dimensional player that cant do anything else but score from time to time... We cant score goals and we hardly get any shots on target, our offence looks horrible yet we don't give a guy a shot that scores regularly that has great ball control and some speed in Fetfa.... This is crazy... Skibbe has no system and no clue of what to do out there and what players to choose.. We seriously cant move forward with him here..... The fact that he said in his press conference he was very pleased on how we played and he felt very positive just shows me how much of a useless coach he is..
