well in fact scratch that, that's our pot which means we can't draw any of them. instead we'll get; from pot 1; one of romania, hungary, scotland, slovenia from pot 3; one of montenegro, isreal, bulgaria, finland from pot 4; one of cyprus, estonia, lithuania winners of each group will play in the semi finals and then in the final. this system guarantees an extra ticker for the european championship and means if we don't get there from our qualifying group we'd still have a chance by winning this one. in general it replaces the old system of friendly games. these games will be played between next september to next november while the semi finals around june of 19. euro qualification starts on march of 19.

We can clearly see Greece are a team more comfortable sitting back and playing against better opponents as they lack creativity and flow when they're forced to press and favored in a game.. we shouldn't be surprised we know what our team is and where we are most comfortable playing.. in saying that this Gibraltar ffs and we need to at least win by 3.. Greece will never win pretty even against the weaker teams that's just who we are..

Zeca has been solid.. we've questioned him when we got him but the guy has heart and runs up and down the pitch like crazy.. he deserves to be a starter.

I honestly think that Skibbe's line up without injury is alwyas going to be Karnezis Toro - Sokratis - Manolas - Stafylidis Zeka - Samaris(or Tziolis/Tachtsidis if height is needed) Mantalos Fortounis Donis Mitroglou We see Stafylidis up front usually when we have noone else available. If Stafylidis manages to get anyplaytime I believe he will kick Tzavellas from the stating spot and go LB instead. So Lazaros keeping up with his unrealistic form in both Europe and Greek League, as well as deliver in this match(even though its just Gibraltar a proper winger will probably destroy that weak defence on his own). will probably kick Mantalos and Tzavellas off the starting line up. It might be the first time in a while(Salpiggidis early 30s maybe) since we have had at least decent players on the wings. Can;t wait to see how that works though. I can't judge Lazaros from this match but he has been dragging Aek on his own for last year(Mantalos didnt evne do that well and he was still getting called up) and now with a much more competitive roster everyone still looks up to him in moments of crisis.

I’ve been critical of Tziolis for at least the last 7 years but for once I thought he played his defensive midfield roll quiet solidly against Cyprus. Forgot about the goal he scored but I thought he shielded the defense very well. His passing game wasn’t creative but he kept the ball moving towards the more creating/attacking players. In saying that I hope we see Zeca & Siopis against Gibraltar.

If you rewind to the end of the last world cup...To where the National team is right at this moment, someone with a functioning brain would understand that things are as they should be. Be grateful, the future of Greek football shows promise. The delusional so-called fans that whine about the team, the coach etc...must understand that the team has re-emerged after some very, very dark times.

We can beat any of the seeded teams on our day. But I would think that we must fill our stadium (oaka). hope that we play at home in the second leg. Cause we can play our old fashioned style defensive football away first scrape a nil all draw and then come to Athens and get the job done. I would love to knock Italy out but then again I wouldn't want to lose to them either. Denmark would be by far the best team to draw.

If Tziolis played in the biggest game of the year for us against Cyprus you can almost garuntee he will play in November..I'm very proud of our accomplishment as of now but I'm not a fan of the selection either but we can yell until we are blue in the face nothing will change Skibbe is who he is and he will pick who he wants even though I don't agree with it.. Laz needs to be a starter, Taxi also need more playing time. Yes Tziolis scored a big goal for us bravo but he still shouldn't be in the line up.. I truly think Skibbe is a little stubborn in his ways and he goes with his gut more then common sense when he puts his line up together.. we have the potential to have some really good players in our staring line up and a pretty good bench if the right guys were called up. Regardless it is what it is.. let's smash Gibraltar and hopefully get the weakest seeded team and after we beat them we can relax until June when we make it to the WORLD CUP!!!

As I stated previousy im hoping Skibbe rewards some players who have been called up and not fielded against Gibraltar. First half we should play our best and make a lead that can't be lost then Skibbe can honestly experiment as much as he wants.

Let me give you my insight on Greece's possible opponent. Italy and Portugal are quite beatable. The recent matches I watch for Italy, they have played mediocre. Not the 2006 team who won the World Cup with the likes of Cannavaro and Pirlo. With all respect to Buffon, but he is old. Portugal is Portugal and Greece still have there number. Other teams like Sweden, Denmark, or Northern Ireland don't scare me one bit. Whoever Greece gets, they will give their 110% on the pitch.

Exactly good points. How many teams would love to be in the playoffs for a chance to go to the World Cup? Many countries have not made it to a World Cup in decades. I read a lot of people thought Bosnia were the favourite for 2nd when this campaign started but they were not better than us. Greece went toe to toe with Belgium and came within a few minutes of beating them in Brussels where they have not lost a competitive match in 6 years since losing to Germany. Meanwhile Bosnia got lit up by them for 8 goals in 2 games and the last one they were missing Lukaku, Witzel, Naingohlan and others. Let's win and get there and Lord willing the boys will fight and ultimately prevail and we will be in Russia. Pa Me ELLAS!
